Even though oil is at a six year low hovering in the $41 a barrel range, the price of gas is down only in some areas. And Northern Ontario is not one of them. Gas in Timmins still goes for about a $1.20 a litre.
Compare that to Toronto where it’s nearly 10 cents a litre less. Or St. Catharines where some outlets are selling gas at 87 cents a litre. North Bay council has been trying to get to the bottom of the huge differences and has a motion asking the competition bureau to investigate.
