Schumacher Fire Hall targeted by break, enter and theft artists; equipment stolen

The latest target of break-in artists in Timmins is the Schumacher Fire Hall. About $6,000 worth of firefighting and lifesaving equipment was removed.

Police say it happened between 6:00pm  Saturday and sometime Sunday morning, when the burglar or burglars got in by forcing a main door.  They also tried to steal a generator from one of the emergency vehicles.

If you have any information that might be useful to the investigation, call Timmins Police or Crime Stoppers.

Some of the stolen items:

– hand tools

– breaching entry tools

– Cutters Edge (brand name) chain saw / rescue saw

– a laptop computer

– a “downed firefighter” rescue kit (RIT Kit) which provides air and a replacement mask for a trapped firefighter.
