Weather closes outdoor skating rinks

After a beautiful weekend for outdoor activities in Timmins, the early taste of spring is closing city-run skating rinks.  City Hall says it’s because of the mild weather that has rain in the forecast.

You’re asked to stay off the rinks to prevent any damage that might complicate re-opening, once the weather gets cold again.  And we do know it will get cold again.

The city operates both rinks at Roy Nicholson Park on Pine St.t between Eighth and Ninth Aves., the one outside the Mountjoy Arena and the skate path at the Hollinger Park.
