Here’s one for a couple Timmins Police officers to share with younger officers in the future. Call it “The time I encountered bear spray”.
It happened Thursday morning on a routine traffic stop for a pick-up truck being driven erratically.
When it was finally pulled over, the 34-year-old driver deployed a canister of bear spray inside his vehicle and kept pointing it at the officers.
Once the situation calmed down and truck was aired out, he was charged with several Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code offences, including carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
