UPDATE AT NOON MONDAY: The victims’ names have been confirmed. Seventy-four-year-old Gil Kelly and 75-year-old Diane Kelly lived in the home. No foul play is suspected.
Timmins Police expect to be able to release the names on Monday of the elderly couple who died in a fire overnight Friday.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office is coordinating the investigation that also involves police, the fire department and the coroner.
TPS communications coordinator Marc Depatie says the house will have to be carefully dismantled as part of a thorough assessment into the root cause.
The house is on Mountjoy St. S., between Columbus Ave. and Southern Ave.
