Timmins Youth Wellness Hub expands into a permanent home on Spruce St. S.

The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub now has its own, permanent home, at 45 Spruce St. S.

Executive director Anne Vincent says it’s been open since November 25th, and is a big step up from going location to location.

“We are going to continue by the way with that rotational model, It’s part of our brand and it’s part of reaching out to youth in different parts of the community,” she mentions. “But absolutely, having our own space means we can offer – you know – we’re open every day.”

Vincent says being open every day is one big advantage of the permanent location.

“Youth are telling us they feel comfortable. They love the space. They’re noticing that every level, because we have three floors, is different.”

Among the wide range of programs and services, Vincent says,  are art, homework help, foosball, ping-pong and musical instruments.  Anyone aged 12 to 25 is welcome, no matter what.

“It could be a youth who wants to make new friends or wants to take a cooking workshop and take part in an activity. It may be a youth who is looking to talk to a peer support worker or a peer mentor.”

You can hear about the vast array of services and programs the Hub offers in the audio of our interview with Anne Vincent right here.
