The Spirit of Sally Spence Award is given to kids who use the Children’s Treatment Center at Health Sciences North. Current Clinical Manager at CTC, Joanne Tramontini, says they set up the award for current and past clients. They can apply, and she says the money can go towards helping them achieve a dream. Winners get a bursary of up to $1000. Executive Director of the HSN Foundation, Mary Lou Hussak, says they are funding the award. She says it is important to recognize Sally Spence, who took care of kids with disabilities in the community. Hussak says it’s a way of ensuring Spence lives on through the award.
