Not being elected to city council on Monday doesn’t have to mean the end of your involvement in municipal affairs.
Clerk Steph Palmateer says City Hall needs volunteers for committees, boards and agencies to which the city appoints members.
“We’ll go through that process of getting members of the public appointed to the various vacancies that we have,” he explains.
There is a wide range of those bodies.
“The library board, the museum board, committee of adjustment,” are on Palmateer’s list, “we have a number of other smaller committees that we appoint members of the public to.”
No specific skills are needed, but if you have expertise that would be useful on any particular committee, that will be taken into account.
