Symphony concert of Halloween music offers treats, no tricks this Saturday night

The music of Halloween is available live, this Saturday night in the auditorium at Ecole Secondaire Catholique Thériault.

Timmins Symphony Orchestra director of publicity Cameron Grant says at the Halloween Pops Spooktacular, the orchestra will be playing all the gory greats.

“It will feature the likes of Danse Macabre, which was one of the famous songs from Fantasia, Disney’s 2000 of course; March to the Scaffold; Harry Potter; the Addams Family,” he recites, “I mean any spooky song that you can think of.”

Grant adds that you’ll recognize most, if not all, the pieces.

“A lot of the music that you hear, probably from the Addams Family, Harry Potter – a lot of the cinematic masterpieces that you hear are innately from an orchestra. So now you’re going to actually be able to see what that music looks like, coming to life onstage.”

You can really get into the spirit by wearing a Halloween costumer and winning a prize for it.

The concert begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the Timmins Museum.
