New additions at Northern College are giving students a step up in their learning. Dumas Mining has donated $65,000 worth of specialized mining equipment. The donation was made official at the school on Wednesday. The six machines include scissor lifts and mine tractors, and will be ready to be used in the fall.
Vice President of Dumas, Wayne Mohns, says students will graduate knowing how to use the equipment that is used extensively in the mining industry. While President of Northern College, Fred Gibbons, says it will give students the hands on experience that is in high demand from local employers.
