Teddy bear dropoff this weekend at fall fair

The first official drop-off depot for the Country 93.1 /Rotary Club teddy bear project is this weekend at the Timmins Fall Fair.

Rotarian and Country 93.1 sales supervisor Samantha Genier says you can drop off new or gently loved teddy bears outside the Mountjoy Arena.

“We will be there with an ambulance form the EMS, with volunteers from them as well, collecting all the teddy bears we can,” she says, hoping we can stuff the ambulance.

Rotary president Marc Durocher says the cuddlier, the better.

“We actually prefer the smaller, you know, 8-12 inch at most,” he concedes, “because these have to be stored and stuff like that, so you know, things like four-foot teddy bears as cute as they are, we don’t have any use for those.”

The stuffies will ride in ambulances and police cruisers.  They’ll distribute them to kids in time of crisis.
