The deadline has passed, and pending certification on Monday, Timmins has 22 people running for eight positions on city council in the October 24th election.
Ward 1 councillor Rock Whissell can sit back and watch the proceedings. He will be acclaimed councillor for everything west of the Mattagami River. No one has filed papers to contest the seat.
Ward 5 councillor Michelle Boileau has two opponents in the race to be mayor: current Ward 3 councillor Joe Campbell and Vet’s Taxi owner Rick Lafleur.
