Truck inspection blitz by MTO and OPP finds problems with 51 of 165 transports

Almost one-third of transport trucks – officially called commercial motor vehicles – were pulled off the road during a five-day inspection blitz last week.

The OPP and MTO conducted the initiative along the northern corridor of Highway 11, specifically Timmins, Cochrane, Kapuskasing and Hearst. Of 165 vehicles they checked, 51 were taken out of service.

One-hundred-and-forty-five tickets were written.
