News Student Trustees Elected SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Friday, Jul. 24th, 2015 The Ontario North East School Board has picked their new student trustees. They are elected by students to be a voice during board meetings. Jacob McGonigal is in grade 11 in Kirkland Lake, and Kendra Cove is in grade 11 in Kapuskasing. “I believe I am an outspoken person with many valid ideas and thoughts to contribute,” says McGonigal. “I am extremely excited to begin my term as student trustee.” “I hope to make a positive change in the schools throughout our Board, and make our school environments more enjoyable,” says Cove. “I am pleased to welcome Jacob and Kendra to their new positions,” says Linda Knight, Director of Education. “I thank them for their interest in representing our students, and look forward to working with them at our meetings.” They’ll start their positions for the 2015-2016 school year.
