Joseph Schopf needs your help to Ride to Conquer Cancer

 109E

Joseph Schopf is a 57 year old competitive cyclist from Elliot Lake who is looking to participate in the 2014 Enbridge Ride For Cancer. The ride is from June 7-8.
This event is a two day, 200+km ride event, to raise funds in support Cancer Research. His chosen route will be the ride from Niagara Falls to Hamilton and return.

“This year, this event has taken on a very personal meaning for me, my wife and my family. In the last twelve months I have lost my Aunt, a good friend and my Father-in-law to this horrible disease. I have seen my boss and friend, lose two of his close friends to cancer and have heard of several citizens of Elliot Lake passing either quickly or after a long battle with this disease. Far too infrequently have I heard of successful battles, but there are a few.”

In order to participate a rider must raise a minimum of $2500.00, and he has set his goal at $3500.00 and would even like to be able to surpass that value. He will be wearing two white jerseys which people can emblazon with names of loved ones who have passed, are fighting or have beaten cancer.

Donations can be made online at www.conquercancer.ca … Select Ontario, then Donate at the top upper right. Enter my name Joseph Schopf, click the Donate button and select a predetermined amount or enter your own.
There are also jars around Timmins at Siva’s, Pro Hardware, and Timmins Furniture.

Sincerely,
Joseph Schopf
