News Northern Hospitals getting some funding SHARE ON: Taylor Ablett, staff Friday, Jul. 24th, 2015 Nearly $3-million will be invested into Northern Hospitals by the Province as part of the Patients First: Action Plan for Health Care program. Notre Dame Hospital in Hearst ($130, 700), Sensenbrenner in Kapuskasing ($153, 100)and the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital ($51, 900)are all getting money. According to the Province 56 small and rural hospitals will benefit from the investments by also gaining a 1% increase additional base funding. Although it might sound like a small number, it adds up to over $7-million in funding for small hospitals across Ontario.
