New owner of Chamber building won’t change exterior, except maybe add to it

The Timmins Chamber of Commerce building on McIntyre Rd. has been bought by Great White North, which now rents space in the former Timmins Police headquarters.

“Great White North simplifies and streamlines technology for businesses,” says owner Paul Brunet. He started his business ten years ago on his kitchen table and has moved three times as it grew.  He says the Chamber building is the perfect location and an excellent fit for his staff of 13 that will grow by two shortly.

The question is whether he’s paying the list price of $638,900.

“Significantly more,” he says. “As you can imagine, you know, with the price of real estate now and with the limited availability, this wasn’t something that I wanted to lose.”

Brunet expects to move Great White North to its new location for November 1st. Renovations are coming in the meantime, but not to the exterior and the raven mural.  Brunet says it adds character and if anything, he’ll add to it.

*Potentially, some northern lights or a polar bear, something like that. The colour palette is fitting for that, a lot of blues and purples and greens right now. So I may expand on that.”

Our complete interview with Paul Brunet deals with the history of his business and much more. You can hear it right here.
