Ballot set for June 2 Ontario election

The deadline passed Thursday afternoon, and we now know the names that will appear on the Timmins ballot in the provincial election three weeks later.

Conspicuous in its absence is the Liberal party.  Elections Ontario’s website has no candidate listed.

However, 32-year incumbent NDP MPP Gilles Bisson is nominated, up against Mayor George Pirie for the Conservatives.

There are three other hopefuls for this riding: David Farrell of the New Blue Party; Elizabeth Lockhard representing the Greens; and Nadia Sadiq of the Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party.
