Porter flights to North Bay on the way

Flights from Timmins to North Bay are starting in the fall. Porter Airlines has signed a deal with the airport. There will be daily flights between the two cities, and from North Bay to Toronto. Robert Deluce is Porter Airlines President and CEO, and hopes the affordable price tag will attract lots of passengers.

“What we have found, is that if you offer passengers affordable fares and a good service, it doesn’t take very much for them to abandon that three or four hour road.”

Deluce says the skies the limit for the future.

“We are going to be operating a 74 seat airplane. We don’t expect to be full on day one, and over time with increased ridership we hope to be able to add additional flights.”

The flights from Timmins to North Bay are about 45 minutes long, and cost just over a hundred dollars one way. You can start booking for October.The agreement between North Bay and Porter is for five years.
