Socks Timmins is back at it, with “Super Socks Sunday”, this Sunday at the Porcupine Mall.
Erin Thomson is a member of the Timmins Kinette Club’s Socks committee. She says the need for clean, dry socks never goes away.
“Foot health is increasingly important, especially to people who are home-insecure,” she remarks. “And so providing warm, dry socks throughout the entirety of the year is really, really important for whole health.”
This time of year, they can even be shorty sport socks. Even in the summer, says Thomson, they protect feet from some of the elements.
“And that includes our own bodies’ elements. So keeping sand, dirt, things like that out of our feet is really important.”
Kinettes will be in the Porcupine Mall parking lot, at the Giant Tiger entrance between 11:00am and 3:00pm on Sunday. In the meantime, you can buy socks at GT and leave them in the bin that will be handed over on Sunday.
