Goodbye, Hollinger mud pit

You won’t need rubber boots or hip waders anymore at a concert or other event at Hollinger Park.

Heavy rain during last fall’s Rock on the River festival turned the festival and events area behind the ball park into a giant mud pit.

Now, city council has given the go-ahead to repair it with gravel – for now.  More changes could be made in future years.  That includes grass.  The only problem with that is that grass isn’t suitable for midway rides to be set up there.

Other additions could be washrooms instead of porta-potties, water stations and a stage.
