Clinic finally open in Moosonee

A Moosonee Health Clinic is reopening. It’s good news for the James Bay community, since they have been depending on a temporary clinic since the original one burned down in 2012.

The clinic can take emergency and walk-ins now, and full services will be ready to go by Tuesday. The North East LHIN says patients will have some privacy now because there will be actual rooms, instead of makeshift rooms out of tents.

“The North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) joins in the community celebration of the renovated clinic where people can access the care they need in a quiet, stand-alone setting,” said Kate Fyfe, Acting CEO of the North East LHIN. “Patient privacy will be enhanced with the return to the single rooms in the clinic, as opposed to the tents which were being used as temporary rooms in the curling rink.”
