The parking garage at the Senator Hotel is off-limits, following the collapse of part of the ceiling Wednesday afternoon.
Interim Timmins Deputy Fire Chief Bernie Stansa says there doesn’t appear to be structural damage, but the city’s building department ordered it closed until an engineer can inspect it. Stansa estimates there are six or seven vehicles inside.
He says a sprinkler was leaking, and the same as what happens to a ceiling in your home when there’s a water leak, it collapsed.
No one was hurt.
