Fireworks fundraiser skyrockets to $2,415

Saturday’s fundraiser for fireworks at the South Porcupine Winter Carnival pulled in $2,415, with more money on the way.

Moose 93.1  staged the event at Northern College.  Carnival committee member Joanne Hagger-Perritt notes that it had already set aside $7,000 for the traditional carnival finale.

“The fireworks are about a thousand dollars a minute,” Hagger-Perritt reminds us, “so we’ve almost hit our ten-minute mark and people can continue to donate throughout the week.”

“Also we have an auction running on Facebook on South Porcupine Winter Carnival 2022 Facebook. You’ll find the link to our auction. So we’re hoping to raise another minute or two that way as well.”

You can issue a cheque to the South Porcupine Pride Association and mail it to 78 Legion Dr.; or e-transfer to [email protected]. The deadline is Friday, because that’s when the order for fireworks has to be placed.
