Northern College is looking to improve mental health services.
Fifty students from colleges across the North including Northern got together for a Real Talk conference over the weekend.
The conference gave 50 attendees a chance to network, learn and share experiences regarding student mental health and wellness.
Northern President, Fred Gibbons says “by fighting stigma and providing support, we can help all of our students achieve their personal and educational goals.”
Workshops at the conference included overcoming suicide, personality dimensions to gain a deeper understanding of their own personality and improve self-esteem, art painting and journalling to promote how creativity can enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being.
