The coronavirus responsible for the pandemic hitched another ride on the Polar Bear Express last Thursday. That same morning, it also stowed away on a flight from Timmins to Moosonee… then on a connecting flight to Attawapiskat (ATT-ah-WAW-piss-kat).
The Porcupine Health Unit says someone infected with it was on the train that left Cochrane last Friday morning at nine o’clock.
If you were in Car 2 on the train from Cochrane to Moosonee or on those flights… and live in a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community… or in Moosonee… you should stay home for ten days – that’s even if you’re vaccinated. You should also arrange for a COVID-19 test, especially if you develop symptoms.
Everyone else on the train or plane is advised to contact the health unit for next steps at this web address.
