Our regular examination of Timmins history is going to give you a holiday treat the next few weeks.
Instead of getting answers from Timmins Museum director-curator Karen Bachmann, she’s going to be asking the questions – two trivia questions a week.
Here’s this week’s first one.
“Schumacher was originally called Golden City; Pearl Lake, then Aura Lake; New Toronto; or McIntyre City?”
The answer: Pearl Lake, then Aura Lake.
And the second question: “In 1967, the Nanking Restaurant was located on what busy downtown Timmins street? Pine Str., Cedar St.,, Third Ave. or Algonquin Blvd.?”
Answer: Third Ave., next to what is now the Seniors Centre.
