Sportsplex pool tries making holiday swimming sessions free to families

If your business or organization can’t figure out how to give back to the community this Christmas season, the swimming pool at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex has an idea.

Aquatic supervisor Amanda Nadeau says this is the ninth year that the pool has looked for sponsors to make sure children’s and family swims are free of charge during the Christmas break.

“Companies and organizations can choose to sponsor one or more of the scheduled swims at a cost of $350 pre swim,” she states.

Nadeau says donations are also accepted to help pay for giveaways during the swims.

The events will be marketed by the City of Timmins, ensuring that the sponsor is known to the swimmers.

“As well as any of the print marketing that they want to bring to the facility during their sponsored swims,” adds Nadeau, “or even hang a banner should they wish.”

Details are available from the Sportsplex pool.
