Marshal named for record-breaking Downtown Timmins Santa Claus Parade

We’re getting closer to the Downtown Timmins Santa Claus Parade, next Saturday night at six o’clock.  And the BIA has selected Timmins Food Bank founder and current president Rick Young to be honorary parade marshal.

Executive director Cindy Campbell says it’s usually someone who goes above and beyond to serve the community… and Young fits that bill perfectly.

“Well, it took me a week to find him,” Campbell claims, “even though I was calling every day, because he was on the go, serving people. So that just reinforced for us that we had made the right selection in Mr. Young as our parade marshal.”

Campbell also updates the number of parade entries.  It’s 55, the most in the parade’s history.

“We’re excited. It’s a wonderful blend of musicians, dancing groups, floats, it’s going to be fabulous.”

Entries are still open until 4:00pm tomorrow (Friday) at the BIA office.
