Don’t build on Crown land, says the MNR

A Timmins man is being forced to tear down his shed after building it on public property near his cottage. He pleaded guilty to encroaching on Crown land after the Ministry of Natural Resources sent out an inspector and found the shed in 2013.

Not only does he have to take it down, he also has a propane tank that needs to go, and he was fined $7000.

There was also a large pre-built medal hut that was partially built on the land. The man was ordered to apply to buy that land, and to pay for it.
