District Hospital imposes vaccination deadline of October 29 on staff

A wide-ranging COVID-19 vaccination policy gives staff, doctors, contractors, students and volunteers at Timmins and District Hospital until October 29th to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

In response to a request from My Timmins Now Dot Com, a statement from the hospital says failing vaccination or legitimate exemption, staff will be placed on unpaid leave of absence.

President and CEO Kate Fyfe says it’s the hospital’s responsibility to protect patients and those who care for them.

Ninety-four percent of staff have been vaccinated. TADH says that figure continues to grow.

Since August, vaccination has been a condition of employment for new hires at the hospital.
