No crowd allowed at Friday night Timmins Rock game at McIntyre Arena

The Timmins Rock begin their hockey pre-season tomorrow night (Fri.) at the McIntyre Arena against the Hearst Lumber Kings.  But the general public can’t get in to watch it.

Jason Kelly from the Rock board of directors confirms that.

“We’re not quite done our return to play with the city and the health unit so we don’t have all the approvals, but we going to be ready for the opening night on the 17th,” he says.

Kelly pledges that that will all be cleared up before next Friday’s home opener against Kirkland Lake.

“We’re really excited to have fans back in the building,” he emphasizes. “There is some rules to follow, but we get to watch live hockey again as a group so it’ll be fun and the kids (team members) will appreciate hearing the crowd roar.”
