Bears have been coming into the Schumacher area recently because of a food shortage. A cold spring and a late frost are making it hard for them to find something to eat. But, the MNR says if they can’t find garbage in the neighbourhoods they won’t stay in the area.
The Ministry has sent out a notice asking everyone to be more careful. If they small garbage, ripe fruit, BBQ’s, or bird feeders, they are going to come check it out. It only takes one house to draw them in.
