Flags outside Timmins City Hall are at half mast, in memory of Dan Kelly. He was a 20-year member of first town council and then the first City of Timmins council.
Kelly was also known as The Voice of the North, for his long radio career in his hometown of Timmins.
Dan Kelly died on Saturday at the age of 85.
