Everything except an actual book is now available from the Timmins Public Library right from your pocket. But you can renew a book.
The library has launched a cellphone app. CEO Carole-Ann Demers says apps are now a natural part of life, and this gives you easier access to library resources and your card.
“If you happen to come into the library and you’ve forgotten your card,” she says as an example, “ all you need to do is pull out your phone and your barcode will be right on there.”
Another advantage: Access anytime, from anywhere.
“You can view your account right from the app. You can also link accounts,” Demers explains. “So you can add multiple cards on there, so your family’s cards, so you can have your children’s on there and you’re able to easily switch between accounts.”
You can download the free app here.
