Goldcorp is making it easier for people in remote areas to have more access to specialized stroke care. The company is donating $600,000 toward professional development and preparedness on strokes in areas where it has mines.
In Northern Ontario Goldcorp operates three mines sites in Porcupine, Red Lake and Musselwhite plus one in Quebec. The grant will also be used on teaching people how to prevent strokes in the first place. Goldcorp is partnering with the Heart and Stroke Foundation on this initiative over the next two years.
