An e-learning platform has been announced at Northern College. It lets employers and individuals access training programs, like WHMIS, from anywhere they get internet. Most of the workplace courses will be generic, but Northern does have the ability to customize the content depending on what a company needs.
They have already begun working with Primero, to develop and deliver online training for new employees at the Black Fox Mine.
“Our new e-learning platform offers some significant advantages to employers when compared to traditional training methods,” says Christine Heavens, Executive Director, Community, Business Development and Employment Services at Northern College. “Not only is online training cheaper than classroom-based training, it’s also easier to access. That means that users will be able to access the high-quality training that Northern College is known for, whenever and wherever works best for them.”
