City CAO encourages alert subscriptions

The top appointed official at Timmins City Hall is trying to get more people to sign up for disruption alerts. Chief Administrative Officer  Dave Landers told council Tuesday that it’s as easy as going to timmins.ca and subscribing to alerts of things like water service disruptions and snow removal schedules. They go to your cell phone or computer.

“Our media partners all receive these and are very good at sharing the important municipal information through the radio, through websites and what not,” he said. “But you could come to the City of Timmins website and find it as well.”

Landers says the city’s also looking into targeted robocalls to alert people of similar situations in their specific parts of Timmins.

“It would certainly be beneficial for things like flood warnings and emergency management. So we’ll make sure to do some work there.”
