Use your crazy hair to show you care for local businesses that support TFEC

Here’s a hair-raising idea for a Shop Local promotion.

The Timmins Festival and Events Committee is supporting the local businesses it relies on for support, with a month-long campaign called “Lockdown Locks”.

“Mullets and Mohawks for local shops is our tagline,” says TFEC co-chair Jeremy Wilson. He points out that everyone has crazy hair because the places that cut it were shut down during the recent lockdown.

“So we want people online, take pictures of their crazy hair, nominate a friend or a local business that you appreciate – kind of like an Ice Bucket Challenge how you nominate your friends.”

You can also enter by buying something at one of the participating businesses.

“We’re going to run it ‘til the end of March and see how the campaign goes,” Co-Chair Wilson states,  “and at that point we’ll do some draws for Rock on the River prize packs and any other prizes we may accumulate along the way.”

By the way, Wilson confirms that plans are underway for Rock on the River 2021, just in case the pandemic eases enough to allow it.
