We begin the month of February with another COVID-19 death in our region and after ten new cases on Friday and eight on Saturday, one more case Sunday.
The fatality is the seventh in the outbreak at Extendicare Kapuskasing, and the 16th overall for the Porcupine Health Unit during the pandemic. Extendicare management says it currently has 33 active cases among its residents and 14 among workers.
The new case is in the Hearst-Hornepayne area. It is the 275th in the region and the result of coming into contact with an earlier case.
