Golden Manor awaiting COVID-19 vaccines

The administrator of the Golden Manor Home for the Aged in Timmins is looking forward to next week. Carol Halt says the 156 residents are expected to receive their first vaccinations against COVID-19.  She says the Manor is working closely with the Porcupine Health Unit.

“They will let us know when the vaccine arrives in Timmins that’s allocated to our home” Halt tells My Timmins Now Dot Com, “and then we are expected to be ready to roll fairly quickly once the vaccine arrives.”

“Although initially they had indicated that the vaccine would be provided to the residents, staff and caregivers in the first phase, that is now shifted to residents first and then staff and essential caregivers following.”

Long-term care homes in Iroquois Falls, Matheson and Cochrane got their first batch of vaccine this week.
