MNR fines man for giving wrong information

The MNR has fined a Foleyet man who gave them false information. Trappers fill out a harvest report every year, and in 2013, one trapper didn’t give correct information. He said that none of the animals he caught on his lines were harvested.

However, his helper trapper also filled out a report that said otherwise. The documents showed that his helper trapper had harvested all the animals from the three traplines they shared. The MNR says he made a false statement by saying all the information he gave was accurate.

He was fined $1,525, after pleading guilty to four counts of failing to include appropriate information on a season-end harvest report and one count of making a false statement in a document.
