UPDATE MON., DEC. 7: The pick-up driver, a 27-year-old Timmins woman is now charged with careless driving causing bodily harm, an offence under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
A noon-hour collision between a pick-up truck and a pedestrian has closed the intersection of Wilson Ave. and Preston St. Timmins Police say that as of 12:45pm, the extent of injuries to the pedestrian is not known.
The intersection is expected to be closed most of the afternoon while investigators do their work into the cause. You’re advised to avoid that area.
UPDATE AT 1:45pm: Pedestrian was actually operating a mobility scooter and was conscious when brought to hospital. Intersection still closed.
