Ontario is still making noise over the sale of Hydro One. The NDP has launched their You Pay The Price website to protest the sale. Timmins city council agrees the privatization isn’t good news. Councillor Andre Grzela says we have to do what we can to show our displeasure of the sale.
“Ontarians will lose our province’s biggest economic asset,” says Grzela. “And, control over our energy future. We will pay higher hydro bills.”
Grzela says selling hydro will be paying for costly mismanagement. He says he isn’t knocking the companies that want to make a profit, but the sale came out of nowhere.
“There was no mention of the privatization plan in the election. We can tell the province, the provincial government, they can’t give away our power.”
