The hunting season is upon us and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry want to remind hunters that poaching is a crime.
Hunter safety is extremely important and as a hunter you have certain responsibilities such as:
- Knowing the hunting rules and regulations
- Knowing your target and beyond
- Possessing the appropriate licenses
The consequences of poaching can be a fine, loss of hunting privileges and equipment such as firearm, boat or vehicle.
Leaving an animal to spoil is reckless and irresponsible. As a community let’s help protect our precious wildlife.
If you know of anyone who has illegally shot, killed or left an animal to spoil call Crime Stoppers right now at 1-800-222-TIPS, use the internet at www.P3tips.com or download the P3 app. You can also call the MNRF tip line @ 1-877-847-7667.
If your information leads to an arrest you could earn up to $2000 in cash. You will remain anonymous and will not have to testify in court.
See something, hear something, do something. Report a poacher to Crime Stoppers.
