Coming soon to areas of Timmins where it’s difficult to get fresh, affordable produce: a mobile, pop-up market.
It’s a project of Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins.
Program manager Amber McLaughlin says an online survey is up, to get your input.
“We are referring to it as the Good Food Market,” she explains, “and right now we are looking for community input on different locations and times that we should be hosting the market.”
South Porcupine comes immediately to mind. It’s been without a full grocery store since Metro closed last year.
“That’s why this survey is really important to use,” McLaughlin states, “because we want to know what area of South Porcupine would be an ideal spot to have the mobile market.”
Anyone can shop at the market. It will get its fruits and vegetables from retailers and farmers in the city, and will be sold for wholesale.
