Tossing garbage in the bush is disrespectful, says Black

When garbage is being thrown into the bush, city officials can’t do much about it unless they know who is responsible. That’s what Mayor Steve Black is saying about the issue, as trash is collecting around the city outskirts.

He says there is bylaw enforcement, so if you know of someone illegally throwing out garbage, you can give them a call.

“We’ve got a lot of bush obviously, in the city of Timmins,” says Black. “We hope our residents would be a little more respectful, especially when you look at all the discussion at the dump this year.”

City council decided not to charge a residential tipping fee at the dump.

Black says he hopes everyone has enough respect for the community to take garbage to the dump where it belongs.
