Angus calling federal budget risky

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus has released a statement on Tuesday’s federal budget, calling it risky.

He says billions are going into the wealthy, and not the middle class. This is taking Canada in the wrong direction, and is just playing politics ahead of the election.

The New Democrat MP says money for infrastructure in big cities adds salt to the wounds, especially as there was no mention of FedNor or Northern Ontario.

“With a slowing economy and a dismal record on jobs, raiding the contingency fund and EI to pay for Conservatives’ billions in handouts to the wealthiest few is a risky bet that won’t grow the economy,” says Angus in the release. “Instead of measures to help more Canadians get ahead, Conservatives are taking Canada in the wrong direction and playing politics ahead of the election.”
