The 52 year old female kayaker was separated from her party just after 4 pm in the Grassy River area. The search included a nine kilometre stretch of the River and the adjoining trail systems. A Timmins Police Service officer had to climb down a 150 foot embankment, and through a swampy area to locate the missing person. The officer brought the person nearly 1.5 kilometres where she could be treated by EMS paramedics. The kayaker was treated for dehydration and other exposure related issues before being released.
