Fatal car crash kills Val Caron man

A 34 year old Val Caron man has died after a car crash.

The single car collision happened Wednesday morning on Highway 65, just south of 66.

The Kirkland OPP responded to the crash, which killed Jason Savard. The Mack tractor trailer swerved, and rolled over on the side of the road. Police are still investigating the cause.

Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the assistance of OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are investigating a fatal single motor vehicle collision.

The collision occurred on Highway 65 approximately six kilometers south of Highway 66 in Kimberley Township.

The incident was reported to police at approximately10:00 a.m. on April 15, 2015.

The vehicle involved is a 2002 Mack tractor trailer white in colour.

The driver was the lone involved person in the collision.

The tractor trailer was northbound on Highway 65 when for an undetermined reason the vehicle veered off the road and rolled.

The vehicle came to rest in the northbound ditch.

The male driver of the tractor trailer was fatally injured and has been positively identified as Jason SAVARD age 34 of Val Caron, Ontario.

Assisting at the scene were the Kirkland Lake Fire Department, the Kenogami Volunteer Fire Department and the Matachewan Volunteer Fire Department. The investigation into the cause of the collision continues.
